History of This Ministry

Paul Hamilton and family began their ministry in 1997 with a desire to sow the word of God, serving in Moldova (currently a communist nation). We began preaching in a village of Slobodzia, called Prednistrovia, starting the church in February of 1997. We were able to teach and baptize converts. In the year 2000, we were able to bring the church through a building program and train a national pastor to oversee the local body of believers. Since then the national pastor left the work and God has raised up another leader from our Bible Institute, within the congregation, to oversee the work. The Christian Bible Baptist Church has begun another church, this one on the Russian side of the same village.

Since the founding of the church, several men have been called to preach in the Hamiltons' ministry. In 1998 Bro. Paul founded the Bible Baptist Institute of Moldova. It starting with the training of nine men in the rented upper room of a print shop. In the school year 2006-2007 the school had a high attendance of 45 students training in the word of God. The school currently has 10 graduates serving in different capacities.

In 2001 the Hamiltons were able to begin the Bible Baptist Church in the airport region. The church currently has 12 members with an average attendance of 20 faithful people who regularly attend the service. The church also has a regular Sunday school under the leadership of one of the teenagers from the church who is currently studying in the Bible Institute.

In 2003, with a burden to reach the Moldovan people with the Gospel, the Bible Baptist Church through its pastor invited the Baptist Couriers for Christ to the "Nistru River Campaign." In nine days the church, with its members and eighteen Americans, was able to distribute 207,000 John and Romans tracts on the streets of Chisinau, the capital city. 3,000 people also came to get a Bible. As a result of the meeting we were able to start The Bible Baptist Church in the center of that city. During the campaign we welcomed the arrival of missionaries Clayton and Robyn McCurdy to Moldova to work in God's ministry. Brother Clayton is currently Dean of Students for the Bible Institute. We are thankful that God has put us to work together. Pray for the McCurdys. Since the founding of the church we have taught the people to support missions. The church currently supports three Moldovan national missionaries out of the Bible Institute.

The Lord has allowed The Bible Baptist Church to have weekly public ministries and prison work. The church is able to put out 5,000 tracts weekly at our local bazaar, at which 250,000 people shop daily.

In 2004 we were able to start the Anchor of Hope Orphan Foundation with the purpose of helping the orphan kids. According to a government report, there are 14,000 children in Moldova who don't have parents. The Lord has opened the door for the mission through the help of local Baptist churches and individuals who provide funding to help support 1,400 orphans on a monthly basis with basic necessities. Through the help it enables the missionaries to be able to stay in the country and serve the Lord. From 2006 to the present, the mission has created a program whereby American families can help these children.
