Hamilton Family Prayer Letter

June/July 2008

Dear Bible Believing Pastors, Family and Friends;

Greetings in the name of the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world! Psalms 7:10 says, "My defense is of God, which saveth the upright in heart." We believe God defends you when your right, God has cleared David. David says ,"My defense is of God,..." We are thankful for the opportunity that God gives us to be here to preach the gospel in Moldova. We are thankful for every one of you who pray and give, so we can be here for the Lord.

This last month has been one of our most trying times here humanly speaking, but one of the most fruitful. We have seen God work in a mighty way. As missionaries we have learned through experience that behind every trouble there is a blessing. (Job 42:12) We urgently need your prayers on this next matter.

Almost two years ago the Lord answered prayer and gave us a building for our church and Bible College. A Pastor from here was immigrating to the US and agreed to sell us his house. When the agreement was made I asked the Lord, and waited on Him to guide us and to show us His will. Through prayer, God enabled us to buy this building at a reasonable price. The terms for the purchase were a certain amount down and then monthly payments for 5 years. When the owner receives all the money agreed upon, he would give us the title for the house and it would be ours.

Since then, because of the decline in the US dollar here, the owner's family sees this as an opportunity to get more money for the building. (I Tim 6:10) They want us to pay more for the building or get out by August. We can not pay more for the building. We have the additional funds to pay off the building in the amount that we first agreed upon so it would not take 5 years, but they will not accept the money. They want to sell if for more than we paid for it. Of course it is worth more now, because we have put over $30,000 into remodeling it.

In the beginning it was a shock, but we know the Lord makes no mistakes. We ask you to pray that God would drive the enemy out (Ex 6:1) and that God’s name would be declared and would show His power in us and the ministry here (Ex 9:16). Please pray that God would give these owners a change of heart. (I Sam 10:9)Please pray fervently, we believe that God hears and will answers our prayers.

SOULS SAVED!!!

We believe troubles are God’s stepping stones. Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, we have tried to reach out more. We decided to take some of our teenagers out of their comfort zone and on the road. For 3 weeks we had revival meetings in 3 different villages (Slobodzia, Ceadir Lunga, and Sengreai). We preached in Slobodzia 2 different times with 10 souls saved in those meetings. In Ceadir Lunga we preached for one of our Bible Institute students and there were 4 saved in that meeting.

We were invited to the village of Sengreai by a young man named Vasia, who got saved in our church here in Chisinau. After the meeting, the Pastor of the church asked us to come back to his office. I asked him if he had anyone interested in studying for the ministry. He said he would send a group of young people to our Bible Institute this fall. Please pray God would send more students for us to train.

Strengthening the Youth

During this time of trials, we are going forward in the work here. We have planned three different mission trips designed to strengthen the youth of our church. Our first trip takes place July 17th through July 27th. We are taking 7 of our faithful youth to a youth conference in Simferopol Ukraine. It will be a 16 hour drive for us to get there. Please pray for safety for this trip, we are taking our 14 year old van. The theme of this conference will be “Stay in the Castle.” Please pray that our youth will make some serious life changing decisions for the Lord while there.

The next trip takes place July 28th through August 9th. That only gives us one day to get back home and to our next destination, which is 6 hours in the other direction. We are going to the city of Chernovtsy. Our group of 14 youth and leaders will be helping another missionary, Chuck Leonard hold vacation Bible schools in two different villages. We will have youth services in the evenings and VBS for children each morning. We will be taking our 100 person tent and doing evangelistic services in the second village each even. Please pray for souls to be saved, for the attendance to be large, for the Lord to be glorified in all we do there.

Our third trip will be August 15th through August 23rd. We are taking a group of 11 youth to Brasov Romania for a youth camp in the mountain with Bro. Brent Logan and Bro. Gerald Sutek. We will be doing street ministry with them the day we arrive. There will be an unsaved young man named Seroja with us, please pray for his salvation. There are others that need to make decisions to commit fully to the Lord. Would you please join us in praying this camp would be a life changing experience for our youth?

Kazakhstan Trip

I have been praying for the opportunity to branch out to other Russian speaking areas. The Lord put Kazakhstan on my heart several years ago and I have been praying for the opportunity to travel there to do a bible campaign. The Lord opened the door for me to travel there in September with a survey group in order to set up for the bible campaign. We will be meeting and working with a Pastor there in this Muslim country. We want to sew the seed while there, preach in several of the churches, with the purpose of setting up a scripture campaign for the following year. We hope to have our new print shop up and running in order to print literature for the camp next year. I will be traveling with three of our national preacher from here. We consider going by train, but it would take 4 days to arrive there. The trip will be costly, but well worth the cost. It will cost us $1,200 a person for the trip with air fare and food. Please pray that the Lord will supply the $4,800 needed for this trip, that we will see souls saved there, that we will be able to set up the campaign in the time we are there and that we will be able to encourage the Pastors there.

We appreciate all of you that have a part in the Lord’s work here. Thank you for your prayers and faithful support. “Prayer is the promoter of activity for it puts one at the disposal of God.”
